New for Your Case IH Baler: Compostable Bale Net Wrap
Case IH is putting sustainability at the forefront with its new offering—Nature’s Net Wrap, a compostable round bale net wrap option for hay producers. Nature’s Net Wrap was invented by ranchers, for ranchers. A father-son ranching duo from the prairies of western Canada developed the wrap to minimize the carbon footprint of livestock operations without compromising performance.
Made From Renewable Resources
Nature’s Net Wrap is 100% plant based and made in the U.S. When buried, the net wrap is consumed by soil micro-organisms and enzymes, allowing the net wrap to fully compost. Farmers are also encouraged to take the net wrap to their local composting facility for disposal.
The use of compostable net wrap can reduce landfill use, haulage and disposal costs from the use of plastic wraps, while reducing or eliminating any soil or water contamination from use of plastic wraps. CNH, parent company of Case IH, estimates a reduction of 2.4 million tons of plastic waste per year with the adoption of compostable bale wrap options.
Seamless Integration
Adopting Nature’s Net Wrap in your Case IH baler is a seamless transition from typical plastic wraps. The compostable option is loaded in the baler as usual, and the typical number of wraps is recommended—2 ¼ wraps for hay and 3 ¼ wraps for straw and other forages.
Nature’s Net Wrap has tensile strength that matches plastic wrap. It maintains its structural integrity for at least 12 months when bales are stored as recommended, without sacrificing strength or performance with the switch from plastic. While weather conditions do not have an impact on the wrap’s integrity, for best results, it is recommended that bales are stacked on-end (net wrap side out), with one bale on top on its side (net wrap side down).
Case IH now offers Nature’s Net Wrap in five widths: 48-, 51-, 64- and 67-inches. Visit your local Case IH Dealer to start using a sustainable net wrap solution in your hay and forage operation.
