Case IH FieldOps Spring Preparation
Ensure a Smooth Transition to the Field with Some Spring FieldOps Prep Work
It’s that time of year when your attention is laser focused on one job at hand: Spring fieldwork. When the weather breaks, you want to be ready.
And there’s one area where you can get a lot of that preparation done without turning a wrench or changing an oil filter. Your precision technology can also benefit from some preparation before you hit the field.
You’ve invested a lot in precision technology, and you’ve reaped the benefits that it can offer to every facet of your operation. Taking the time to ensure these tools are ready to go will save you a lot of time when you are in the field and will ensure you are making the most of your investment.
Case IH FieldOps is a comprehensive operations management platform that connects Case IH and multi-branded equipment, providing access to real-time data and insights, including real-time monitoring, precise equipment location and duty status, estimated job completion time, inventory management, and more.
Pre-planting setup of the tools within FieldOps is critical. Here’s what you need to do to ensure you are ready to get the most out of FieldOps.
Pre-planting Setup
- Ensure all historical agronomic data and setup files (including grower information, farm information, field boundaries) is exported to FieldOps.
- Clean up all data files and remove any files no longer needed on the in-cab display.
- Perform any necessary software updates to all equipment displays.
- Update and export setup profiles (including field boundaries, guidance lines, products used) directly to in-cab displays.
- Create or upload prescription maps that will be used during spring fieldwork.
- Enter all products that will be used during the spring planting season, including seed, fertilizer and chemicals. That will assist in tracking inventory throughout the season.
- Ensure all machines are calibrated prior to field work.
Connecting Equipment
FieldOps connects machines, fields, teams and dealers with the data needed to make more informed, real-time decisions. To get started, you need connected equipment. While much of today’s Case IH equipment comes from the factory with the necessary hardware, we know many of our customers may have mixed fleets. We understand, and that’s why we’ve developed the ability for you to easily connect all your equipment, no matter the color, to take advantage of FieldOps.
“FieldOps helps me to be a better manager. Having all information in one place allows me to make more informed management decisions.”
Zach, MO
To connect equipment not equipped from the factory, Case IH offers two telematics solutions—a PCMf and a CM100/110 option. The PCMf is a robust option that is paired with a display and provides agronomic data transfer, machine-to-machine communication, NTRIP corrections and more. CM100/110 modems can send equipment data, including location, on/off status, utilization metrics, movement alarms, unauthorized usage and machine alerts to FieldOps.
Connectivity Unlocks the Power of FieldOps
Once your equipment is connected, you will be able to experience the full benefits of FieldOps. While these benefits extend well beyond the planting season, there are some specific features that will become evident in the spring.
- Equipment Tracking. Access every piece of connected equipment through your smartphone at any time. View where the machine is located, the job it is performing, estimated completion time, fuel usage, operating speeds…everything the operator sees in the cab can be viewed from anywhere.
- Custom Maps. Using past data, prescription maps can be produced and sent to the equipment directly through FieldOps. Trusted advisors such as agronomists, dealers, or business partners can upload and deliver custom prescription maps by using the linked accounts feature.
- Variety Tracking. When seed varieties and hybrids are entered into FieldOps and exported to the in-cab display, planting information is captured in real time. That’s invaluable information throughout the growing season to track performance, and to compare yield data at harvest.
- Monitor Machine Performance. Know what each machine is doing, and how it is performing. Information is tracked in real time so you can help plan activities throughout the season.
- Share Agronomic Information. Data including seeding rates, inputs and fertilizer rates is available in one location, at any time. Data can be referenced to share with landlords, insurance providers or agronomists. Map layers can include tillage, planting and application information.
While we’ve developed FieldOps to be user friendly, we know you may have questions when it comes to using the vast array of tools available. We’ve developed a library of useful how-to videos as a resource. In addition, you can visit the website for more information. As always, your local Case IH dealer is ready to answer your questions.
